Inside Amazon's Dublin HQ: My Takeaways from the eDesk x Amazon Seller Event

Last Thursday, I sat in Amazon’s Dublin headquarters surrounded by Irish sellers who all wanted the same thing: to grow faster. I’d spent weeks helping put this one together with the Amazon team, so watching it actually come together in the room was different.

Walking in

I’ll admit it, I was excited walking into Amazon’s Dublin office. I knew the agenda inside out by that point, but there’s a difference between planning a session on paper and watching a room full of ambitious Irish sellers actually show up for it.

The bit that hit differently in the room: thinking beyond Ireland.

I’d written this part into the agenda myself, but hearing it land live is different. We got into how sellers can expand into new regions and how Amazon can bridge the gap in your marketing plans to reach customers globally. Watching heads nod around the room, it hit me how many Irish sellers are still thinking too small. The tools to go global are already sitting in front of them.

Gareth’s moment

Our CEO, Gareth Cummings, took the floor to talk about how eDesk helps sellers deliver standout customer support, streamline operations, and scale across marketplaces without the chaos. I’ve heard him talk about this before, but watching a room of Amazon sellers nod along made it land differently. Growth and support aren’t separate problems. They’re the same problem.

Madalina on the Amazon.ie opportunity

Next up was Madalina, Amazon’s Head of Marketplace, and the numbers she put up on screen said more than any pitch could. Over 200M+ products available with Euro pricing, 2.2M active customers in Ireland already, and 49.1% adult penetration, the best of any emerging marketplace. Watching those stats land in the room, you could see sellers doing the math on what that actually means for their business.

Deals and Ads: the part everyone leaned in for

This is where the room got quiet in the best way. Olivie walked us through Deals & Ads on Amazon and how leveraging them can make a real difference to business growth. Watching people take notes on this bit told me everything. It’s the part sellers actually need answers on.

Global Expansion Panel

Our Product Manager, Clodagh Callan, sat on the panel alongside the Amazon team, sharing what it really takes to win on Amazon. She broke down global expansion and how it actually helps sellers, and why customer support can’t be an afterthought once you’re operating across borders. Hearing that come from a panel that included Amazon themselves, not just eDesk, gave it extra weight.

Leaving the room

I left thinking the same thing I always do after events like this: the sellers in that room aren’t short on ambition. They’re short on the right tools and the right people telling them what’s actually possible. That’s the gap eDesk and Amazon closed for an afternoon. And getting to help build that afternoon from the ground up, agenda, logistics, all of it, made watching it land in the room even better.

The networking after

I’d gotten there early that morning to make sure everything was set up perfectly, eDesk was hosting, and I wanted the room ready before a single seller walked in. So watching the networking afterwards come together felt like a bit of a full circle moment. Talking to the sellers one on one, hearing their actual questions and war stories, was so much fun. That’s where the real conversations happen, away from the panel and the slides. We sent everyone home with a little goodie bag too, a small thank you for showing up.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined, and to the Amazon team for partnering with us on one I’m genuinely proud to have helped put together.
